The Breath of Wonder

The scarlet sunset and gleam of dawn cause us to catch our breath. The MacDonnell Ranges underneath the huge sky inspire wonder. They are steadfast and constant, overseeing both change and continuity.

We also catch our breath at the wonder of some moments in life. The first time we experience something new, the last time we say goodbye. We marvel at both beginnings and endings as the cycle of time passes by.

When we remember a moment, we don’t just recall what happened. We also recall how it made us feel. The joy and the sorrow, the light, and the dark - we are scarred by both. Sometimes moments bring us strength; other times, they deplete us. When we stand back and look at life in all its shades, we see its varieties and extensiveness.

For some of us, the world is a big place made of layers of victories and ladders to climb. For others, it is more constricted, and we exist within a small circle of familiarity. No matter what is the case for us, we are all gifted with moments that constitute a life. Together, they make up the story of humankind and turn into history. This surely is worth our awe.
