A Moment When the Outback is Still
Everything stops: time, memory, movement.
Even then, the desert breathes, and water ripples as life stirs.
The Outback has a stillness to it that is all its own. Moments layer the Central Desert when the natural world takes over, and we step back, watching and listening as it speak in currents and pulses that flow over all of us.
As the business of everyday crashes around us, the clear air and warm sun in certain places speckled throughout the MacDonnell Ranges draw silence from us, forcing us to pause and rest.

Central Australia flaunts its beauty. When we step outside the comings and goings of our lives to notice our surroundings, we are gifted the opportunity to recharge. The stillness of the outback calms our own hearts, reminding us of what has always been here and what will remain, no matter how much activity we add.
Flora and fauna thrive in the far flung desert. Overhead, kites cruise and underfoot, wildflowers unfurl. Time touches them, too, as they live their allotted days, not one the same as another. We have jobs, families, friends, tragedies, challenges, and joy to experience. However, in the midst of all this, the stillness of the outback cuts through and restores. Take a moment. Life will go on - refreshed.
