The Heart Beats Strong Within

We are the ones who know what an unbroken blue sky is like in the furnace of summer. We welcome the rain and the flooding rivers. We breathe the tang of bushfire smoke and face the deep chill of early winter mornings. The heart of the outback beats strong and resilient.

The Outback stretches all across Australia’s vast interior. Our lives, played out on red desert dirt, are different to those of our city counterparts. We live a unique lifestyle that is both romanticized and ignored by those who don't understand or care.

Despite that, at daybreak the dawn reminds us that the land embodies beauty, made more special by the knowledge that in a lifetime many people will never see what we see. Friendships and community underpin our towns, and gifts from the desert like waterholes and wildflowers speak of the magic of living in this stunning environment.

It is not without challenge – but it is so worth it.
